Dr. Strathdee will be giving a fascinating presentation on phage therapy discussing the book that she co-wrote with her husband, Dr. Thomas Patterson who contracted a multidrug resistant bacterial infection when they were on vacation in Egypt. The book is about her and her colleagues’ search for the elusive biophage that would save her husband’s life. She is the Associate Dean of Global Health Sciences at UCSD as well as the co-director for the Center for Innovative Phage Applications and Therapeutics (IPATH) which is the first dedicated phage therapy center in North America.
