About half of the 2022 Advanced Industries Investment Tax credits are still unclaimed which provides Colorado Startups an advantage in utilizing these credits. In most years the credits are disbursed by July or August which now presents an opportunity for Colorado Startups. This webinar will be useful to founders of Advanced Industries companies (information technology, bioscience, manufacturing, energy, etc.) that are seeking investment or will seek investment soon.

The Advanced Industry Tax Credit is a 25% credit for Colorado investors investing in eligible Colorado businesses (ie. $100k investment would result in a $25k tax credit against the investor’s state income tax). Founders can make an AITC investment if they own less than 30% of the business. Otherwise, businesses primarily benefit from increased access to capital through exposure to investors who are looking to use the credit. Also, investors often will increase the amount they’re willing to invest when they learn about the credit.
