On June 13, 2022, Shawn Stigler, JD, will present “Entrepreneurship and Innovation — When Legal Counsel Becomes a Value Add.” This lunchtime series is designed for researchers and academics who are interested in entrepreneurship, pharmaceutical, device and technology development and innovation.

As a lifetime entrepreneur, Shawn has a real “thing” for helping out the little guy (aka start-ups, small business owners and the like), which has allowed him to serve the community in ways that feed his personal and professional passions. Before accepting his current role as a leader at Venture Best (Michael Best’s legal support utopia for high-growth entrepreneurs) Shawn founded Modus Law: a firm rooted in his everlasting support of the small business ecosystem.

These days, Shawn speaks and lectures, invests in emerging companies and acts as a trusted counsel for clients in industries ranging from VC firms and family offices to natural foods and artificial intelligence. Shawn earned his BS in Accounting, Risk Management and Insurance from the University of Wisconsin and his JD from the University of Colorado. Shawn is heavily engaged in community volunteering, including with the Grand County Search and Rescue. He is a founding member of the Entrepreneurs Foundation of Colorado (EFCO) and a co-founder of the Stigler and Nelson Alpine Endeavors Law Scholarship.
