CBSA and Medtronic Women’s Network are thrilled to present Chesley Chen, Adjunct Professor of Entrepreneurship at University of Denver and University of Massachusetts Lowell, and CEO of Burma Road Ventures, as the speaker for February’s The Leader Within virtual event.

An expert who works with CEOs and entrepreneurs to launch new ventures in biotech and digital health, Chesley will share:

  • How his career journey, that includes work across innovation industries, informs his work advising entrepreneurs.
  • What inspired him to serve on the Board of Women in the Enterprise of Science and Technology (WEST), plus found Asians in Biotech and how DEI accelerates innovation and results in better outcomes for more patients.

Chesley has over 40-years’ experience as CEO, executive, and engineer in biotech, digital health, healthcare, aerospace, and other innovation-driven industries. He was CEO/Founder of XACT Bio, an AI-powered biotech focused on cancer patients, EVP/Co-founder of Good Measures, a digital health start-up focused on nutrition, and VP of Health Dialog, a health coaching firm serving over 24 million lives. He has served on the Boards and Advisory Boards of numerous start-ups.

In his volunteer work, Chesley is Chair of the HBS Alumni AASU Racial Equity Project, Strategic Advisor to the Jack M. Wilson Center for Entrepreneurship at UMass Lowell, founding member of the Bioscience & Investor Inclusion Group, and founder of Asians in Biotech. He is a member of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society New England’s DEI Committee. He has spoken on entrepreneurship and innovation at Harvard, DU, Brown University, Babson College, and UMass Lowell.

He earned his B.S. in Civil Engineering from Tufts University, M.S. in Aeronautics & Astronautics from MIT, and M.B.A. from Harvard Business School. He’s a devoted family man, rock climber, skier, and black belt in karate.
