Our Location Gives BioScience Companies an Advantage

Many factors contribute to Colorado’s reputation as an exceptional place to start, grow, commercialize or relocate a life science business. Our collaborative business culture. World-class academic and research institutions. Favorable tax climate. Educated, motivated workforce. Supportive bioscience sector. Our location.

For business leaders and researchers, location means more than our beautiful Rocky Mountain setting. Our position in between the two coasts makes Colorado an ideal place to locate a business. With a major international airport, it’s easy to get to and from Denver to anywhere in the U.S. or the world.

Andy Sklawer, COO and co-founder of Brickell Biotech, says the clinical-stage, dermatology-focused pharmaceutical company relocated its headquarters from Miami to Boulder because of the central location with easy access for its remote team.

While the company’s physical headquarters is in Boulder, the company has employees located across the country. “We now have a central hub for our company,” he says. “Members of our team are here almost every other week, whereas in Miami, it became exceedingly challenging to have the team, particularly those individuals on the west coast, all in one place. By having this central hub, we can recruit both locally and across the U.S. and it’s easy for us to conduct frequent domestic and international business travel.”

Denver International Airport is a top-ranking international airport that offers 1,500 flights each day and serves more than 58.3 million passengers a year.
