Colorado BioScience Association Announces Appointment of Vice President

Michael Crews to Advocate for Life Sciences Priorities at the State and Federal Level

DENVER – Colorado BioScience Association (CBSA) today announced a key hire, new Vice President Michael Crews. Crews will lead CBSA’s Policy + Advocacy work at the state and federal level. He will develop and execute strategic initiatives to support the growth and health of CBSA and Colorado’s life sciences ecosystem in collaboration with CBSA’s President & CEO and the board of directors.

Michael brings experience running successful legislative initiatives, building coalitions to secure funding for critical infrastructure, and finding common ground with policymakers on key issues.

CBSA President & CEO Jennifer Jones Paton says:

“Identifying a new vice president to lead CBSA’s Policy + Advocacy efforts has been a top priority for the CBSA Board of Directors and team. The CBSA team and board are pleased to have someone with Michael’s background and level of expertise lead Policy + Advocacy. He will advance CBSA’s work to build a pro-innovation environment for life sciences in Colorado.”

Before joining CBSA, Michael served as the Policy Director for One Colorado, the state’s leading advocacy organization for LGBTQ Coloradans and their families. Michael also managed the diverse intergovernmental affairs needs for the city of Aurora working in the Office of the City Manager. He began his career in the office of former Governor John Hickenlooper, most recently as Director of the Office of Constituent Services.

CBSA Vice President Michael Crews says:

“Policy + Advocacy are critical focus areas for CBSA. It’s an honor to lead the work to cultivate a supportive, innovation-friendly business climate for life sciences. I’m excited to draw from my background working with broad stakeholder groups to build coalitions and achieve policy goals on behalf of Colorado’s health innovators.”

CBSA introduced Michael to its board of directors and members at the CBSA All Member Meeting on August 18. CBSA President & CEO Jennifer Jones Paton remains in her role at CBSA to provide leadership continuity during Michael’s onboarding and the search for her replacement.
