Industry Experts Update State Policymakers on COVID-19 Efforts

Colorado BioScience Association is proud of how our life sciences ecosystem has responded to the outbreak of COVID-19. We have seen our members come together to address the crisis and commit resources, supplies, and talent. Many of our companies are developing innovative solutions to detect, prevent, or treat the virus and others have repurposed existing products to meet urgent needs across the country.

Over the past few months, CBSA has made it a priority to highlight the extraordinary efforts of our community. As we engage with federal, state, and local leaders to advocate for our life sciences ecosystem, we want them to know all that our members are doing to advance the fight against COVID-19.

Recently CBSA partnered with Front Range PharmaLogic and West Slope PharmaLogic to host a webinar for Colorado state legislators about the global efforts of the life sciences industry. It was a rare opportunity for policymakers to hear from top experts who are on the front lines of research and innovation, working to develop new tests, treatments, and eventually a vaccine for the novel coronavirus.

The conversation featured a dynamic panel, including:

  • Ed Harnaga, Vice President of R&D Corporate Affairs at Pfizer
  • Michael Page, Executive Director of Global Regulatory Affairs Strategy at Alexion
  • Dr. Gary Pestano, Chief Development Officer at Biodesix
  • Dr. Michael Ybarra, Vice President of Medical Affairs and Strategic Alliances, PhRMA

Thank you to our speakers for sharing the promising research and development underway at their companies. We know health innovation will lead us to better days.

For those who were unable to join the webinar, you can watch the highlights here.
