Emily Whitehead, Tom’s daughter, is alive today because of cutting-edge cancer research.  As the first pediatric patient in the world to receive CAR T-cell therapy after a terminal acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) prognosis, Emily is more than 10 years cancer-free.

Her groundbreaking therapy and miraculous cure has gained worldwide attention.  Emily’s story has been featured in the New York Times and debuted as a full-length documentary, Of Medicine and Miracles, in the 2022 Tribeca Film Festival.

Tom co-founded the Emily Whitehead Foundation and speaks internationally to share Emily’s story and to raise awareness for pediatric cancer immunotherapy research.
