LightDeck Diagnostics Honored as Bronze Stevie® Award Winner in 2021 American Business Awards® for Its Lab-Quality, 5-Minute Diagnostics Platform

LightDeck Diagnostics was named the winner of a Bronze Stevie® Award in the Startup of the Year category in The 19th Annual American Business Awards® today. The company was recognized for its achievements over the last year to bring lab-quality, quantitative diagnostics into a rapid format.

LightDeck’s platform offers lab-quality results in as little as five minutes and can be deployed almost anywhere — from emergency departments to nursing homes, schools, airports, and more. Combining the high sensitivity and simple workflow of the waveguide with cost-effective manufacturing, LightDeck provides broad access to advanced testing that the world needs to prevent the further spread of the disease and help inform better, faster treatment decisions.

The company has tripled in size over the last year, which roughly correlates with revenue growth. The team raised $30 million in  Series B funding in 2020, bringing its total financing to almost $80M million, with around half being non-dilutive funding from government research and development contracts. This capital helps drive the development and commercialization of LightDeck’s veterinary, environmental, and in vitro multiplex tests for several panels, including COVID-19 and other point-of-need tests like hormone imbalance, cardiac markers and sepsis.

“The LightDeck platform is a truly cost-effective, extensible platform that could be used with any disease that is protein based and the COVID-19 pandemic accelerated commercialization of our in vitro diagnostics to address the urgent need for point-of-care diagnostics,” said Chris Myatt, CEO of LightDeck. “We’re honored to be recognized among such a premier lineup of companies and this Stevie award further emphasizes our focus on reimagining how people interact with their health.”

The American Business Awards are the U.S.A.’s premier business awards program. All organizations operating in the U.S.A. are eligible to submit nominations – public and private, for-profit and nonprofit, large and small.

“The American economy continues to show its resilience, and as we’re poised on the beginning of what should be a phenomenal period of growth, we celebrate the remarkable achievements of a wide range of organizations and people over the past 18 months,” said Stevie Awards president Maggie Gallagher.  “This year’s Stevie-winning nominations in The American Business Awards are testament to the ingenuity, the commitment, the passion, the adaptability, and the creativity of the American people.  We look forward to celebrating this year’s winners during our virtual ceremony on June 30.”

Nicknamed the Steviesfor the Greek word meaning “crowned,” the awards will be virtually presented to winners during a live event on Wednesday, June 30.  Tickets for the virtual event are now on sale.
