Weekly Policy Update: The Final Tally – 2019 Legislative Session Comes to a Close

CBSA has worked hard this session to advocate on behalf of the industry. We’ve worked with our members and partners to advance proposals that promote patient safety, protect patient access, and enhance workforce development efforts, while coordinating to convey concerns with problematic legislation and mitigate threats to the industry in Colorado.

As the 2019 session comes to a close, here’s a look at what passed and what failed this year.

Passed with the amendment that requires a separate bill to be passed if the waiver is approved by HHS, prior to implementation of the importation program.

    • Status: Passed, to be sent to Governor
      • Amended into a study bill.

  • HB19-1131, Prescription Drug Cost Education (CBSA Testified)
    • Status: Passed, to be sent to Governor
  • SB19-085, Equal Pay for Equal Work Act
    • Status: Passed to be sent to Governor

Passed with a number of amendments that CBSA and the business community supports, including changes to reduce expensive litigation for employers.
