Our 2014-2015 issue, Drawing People 
and Data Together, detailed the 
history of state funding for innovation 
industries, beginning with the CBSA-led 
legislation to fund the Bioscience 
Discovery Evaluation Grant Program 
(BDEGP) in 2006 to support the 
development of novel technologies 
and advance commercialization. The 
successful program led to additional 
funding for all designated industries in 
2013, the state’s Advanced Industries 
Accelerator Grant Program.
